Ganesh Versus the Third Reich by Back to Back Theatre, Australia

How brilliant that Australia’s amazing Back to Back Theatre stormed Edinburgh International Festival last week, with its production “Ganesh Versus the Third Reich.”
The List critic Gareth K Vile said this: “It allows the company to reflect on the difficult questions, to challenge both the use of Nazi iconography on stage and the accusations that actors with disability could not make such serious work. Without giving easy answers, they tear open lazy assumptions, and examine the power relationships of the rehearsal room and pose more questions about authority.”
Whilst it is a shame only audiences in Scotland have had a chance to see it in the UK (a world tour follows), how great that it has overturned preconceptions and engaged national critics.
