Gus Garside reflects on the Creative Minds Conference that was held in Brighton on the 10th March 2014.
Fantastic that the Creative Minds conference in Brighton sold out. Shows how much interest there is in the work of learning disabled artists and performers. But we have to work further with mainstream arts organisations, programmers, audiences and critics to get them to be honest about what the barriers or gaps in their understanding are.
And we need mainstream organisations to attend events like Creative Minds not just to listen and learn but to contribute to them honestly.
