  1. Why isn’t diversity a specific department in places like the BFI? It might help strengthen the genre and promote the work so more people can see if. Do they see it as quality work? If not, how can we make them see it as quality work?
  2. This work is quality and there is no excuse for them not to show the work. Maybe something to come out of this conference today is that we can get in touch with the people in control of the media. Can we make a difference together?
  3. People think that working with people is a “humbling” thing and support to make their work is charitable. But we make the work because we’re passionate and excited about it. The work doesn’t have to be defined by disability, it’s just happens that the work is made by people with a learning disability.
  4. Can film makers lobby cinemas, see if shorts can be programmed before feature films.  Why can’t we get together and make changes? We need to break the boundaries and make sure everyone understands we’re equal and we all deserve the same things.
  5. We have unique stories to tell about our lives and our view of the world around us. Film is a great way to show everyone how good we are at being creative.
  6. OFCOM says that a disabled person appears on 1% on TV on channels 1-5. There’s such little representation for people with learning disabilities, that’s why it’s important. We need to push a discussion with broadcasters, there’s nothing to get them off the hook.
